Credentialing

Former students seeking to practice in another country may be required to undergo a credentialling process. The credentialling process may require the former student, or applicant, to request that the OT Program create and/or provide documentation to a Credentialing Organization for the purpose of verifying that the education received in the McMaster Occupational Therapy Program is relevant to the specific requirements of the country/state of which the former student intends to practice.

Credentialling requests can be made to the OT Program Coordinator at otprog@mcmaster.ca.

FEES:

  • Simple requests (e.g., single form, confirmation of enrolment): $50 CDN
  • Complex requests (e.g., multiple forms, requirements to pull records to fulfill the request): $250 – $500 CDN
  • Complex request, plus curriculum mapping (e.g., multiple forms, requirement to pull records, mapping the curriculum to another country’s professional standards): $1,000 – $2,000 CDN

Special or extraordinary request may incur additional fees at the discretion of the OT Program.

PAYMENT:

  • McMaster University will send the applicant an invoice. The credentialing request will only be processed upon receipt of payment.
