The Helen Saarinen Lectureship Award
The Helen Saarinen Lectureship Award Committee is pleased to announce Dr. Brenda Mori as the 2021 Helen Saarinen Lecturer.
The Helen Saarinen Lectureship was established in 1997 in honour of Helen Saarinen (1933-1996) co-founder of the School of Rehabilitation Science and first Chair of the undergraduate pro-gram in Physiotherapy at McMaster University. This Lectureship is a memorial to an outstanding colleague who was dedicated to the advancement of rehabilitation practitioners in general and physiotherapists in particular.

Dr. Brenda Mori
as the 2021 Helen Saarinen Lecturer
Brenda Mori (BScPT, MSc, PhD) is an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream and the Director of Clinical Education and Community Affairs at the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto where she leads the clinical education curriculum for the Entry-level MScPT degree program. She is also the Program Lead for the Education Scholars program with the Centre for Faculty Development, at Unity Health Toronto – St. Michael’s Hospital and the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at University of Toronto. Her scholarly interests are in the areas of faculty development, learner assessment and learning in the clinical environment. Brenda led the development of the Canadian Physiotherapy Assessment of Clinical Performance (ACP) for physical therapy students during clinical education.
